Roberto Uribe Works

Roberto Uribe Castro.

Opening April 12th

For more than two years we have been collaborating with Roberto Uribe Castro. We have done workshops, installations, competitions, and our podcast together. It is time for an exhibition:

“Unfinished Works”, the first monographic exhibition of Roberto Uribe Castro, who lives and works in Berlin. He is an architect by training and studied art at the Weissensee in Berlin.
The exhibition presents a series of works from the last few years. At the center of the exhibition is the group of works entitled Seringueiros. Sculptures made from deep black shredded car tires, shaped like cubes, some of which are slanted and cracked. The work is related to the exploitation of rubber in the 19th century built with the abuse and exploitation of the native populations. Today we know about the human rights violations thanks to the Irish-born diplomat Roger Casement, who published a report in which the abuses were made public.

Roberto’s body of work deals with historical events that have disappeared from the mainstream narrative. Roberto Uribe gives a new voice to individuals, groups of people and artistic structures.
