La naturaleza est\u00e1 en huelga. La lluvia desaparece del cielo, o cae en cantidades que inundan ciudades enteras. La gente tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 en huelga. La naturaleza protesta. Tambi\u00e9n la gente.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Strike<\/em> toma como punto de partida el verano europeo del descontento, reconociendo que, en otros lugares, el descontento se extiende a lo largo de d\u00e9cadas. La protesta produce materiales e im\u00e1genes, y la historia misma se construye a trav\u00e9s de im\u00e1genes reorganizadas en nuevas narrativas.<\/p>\n\n

La exposici\u00f3n confronta las im\u00e1genes con materiales f\u00edsicos \u2014l\u00e1tex, silicona, malla de fibra de vidrio, PVC, ripstop, fieltro y algod\u00f3n\u2014 despoj\u00e1ndolas, en ocasiones, hasta la estructura desnuda del bastidor.<\/p>\n\n

\u00bfCu\u00e1l es hoy el valor de la ret\u00edcula? \u00bfQu\u00e9 queda del canon art\u00edstico masculino singular? Las im\u00e1genes se movilizan para producir reclamos leg\u00edtimos: \u00bfD\u00f3nde est\u00e1n?<\/em> \u00bfD\u00f3nde est\u00e1n quienes desaparecieron tras la violencia policial?<\/p>\n\n

Las demandas de justicia conviven con el trabajo lento y artesanal de la producci\u00f3n textil. Las obras de Patricia Dom\u00ednguez, Elektra KB y Rachel Libeskind se despliegan entre la instalaci\u00f3n, la imagen en movimiento, el collage, la fotograf\u00eda y la tela para examinar la protesta, la crisis ecol\u00f3gica, la vulnerabilidad corporal, la historia y la imaginaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/summary>

Patricia Dom\u00ednguez es una artista, educadora y defensora de la tierra afincada en Puchuncav\u00ed, Chile. Es fundadora de Studio Vegetalista, una plataforma experimental de investigaci\u00f3n etnobot\u00e1nica con sede en Chile. Uniendo la investigaci\u00f3n experimental sobre etnobot\u00e1nica, las pr\u00e1cticas curativas y la corporativizaci\u00f3n del bienestar, su pr\u00e1ctica se centra en desafiar las cosmolog\u00edas corporativas cada vez m\u00e1s globalizadas que est\u00e1n surgiendo, rastreando las precarias relaciones entre especies que se contextualizan en la actual digitalizaci\u00f3n de lo vivo. Sus instalaciones adoptan la forma de esculturas, v\u00eddeos y publicaciones que pretenden exorcizar los efectos del capitalismo tard\u00edo y la destrucci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica en el cuerpo f\u00edsico y social, al tiempo que exploran el potencial emancipador de la imaginaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica como forma de emancipaci\u00f3n ps\u00edquica y como v\u00eda de curaci\u00f3n de nuestro trauma colonial.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n

Rachel Libeskind es una artista multidisciplinar cuya pr\u00e1ctica basada en la investigaci\u00f3n examina la construcci\u00f3n de la historia y el poder perdurable de las im\u00e1genes. Trabajando a trav\u00e9s del collage, la instalaci\u00f3n, el v\u00eddeo y la performance, Libeskind se apropia y recontextualiza im\u00e1genes para trastocar las fronteras impuestas \u2014entre lo personal y lo p\u00fablico, lo antiguo y lo contempor\u00e1neo, lo social y lo cultural\u2014 y revelar paralelismos inesperados. Es licenciada con honores por la Universidad de Harvard. Elektra KB es una artista inmigrante latina que vive y trabaja en Brooklyn, Nueva York. Creci\u00f3 en un hospital rural de Colombia con un ej\u00e9rcito de enfermeras, m\u00e9dicos y cocineras, como resultado de una uni\u00f3n sovi\u00e9tico-colombiana de la \u00e9poca de la guerra fr\u00eda.\nSu trabajo aborda la enfermedad corporal y la discapacidad, con posibilidades ut\u00f3picas y universos alternativos. KB investiga el g\u00e9nero, la migraci\u00f3n, la transculturalidad y el abuso de poder. Su trabajo enreda la ayuda mutua, la acci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica y la comunicaci\u00f3n, a menudo con un enfoque h\u00edbrido tipo documental-sci-fi, explorando la utop\u00eda y la distop\u00eda en yuxtaposici\u00f3n con un universo paralelo. Trabajan a trav\u00e9s de: textiles, fotograf\u00eda, v\u00eddeo, instalaci\u00f3n y performance.
