(FR) y Robert Elfgen (DE). Estos 3 artistas tienen en com\u00fan un profundo amor por los materiales nobles, y conciben la fabricaci\u00f3n y el trabajo manual como una pr\u00e1ctica del yo.<br>La serie de espejos de cristal hechos a mano RASA, de Paul Hance, es una obra con 15 espejos de formas y colores diferentes. Los reflejos distorsionados var\u00edan de la imagen que uno utiliza para inspeccionarse, es m\u00e1s bien un &#8220;espejo&#8221; para la b\u00fasqueda de nuevos significados. Su nombre, Rasa, es una expresi\u00f3n s\u00e1nscrita de un concepto de las artes indias sobre el sabor est\u00e9tico de cualquier obra visual, literaria o musical que evoca una emoci\u00f3n o un sentimiento en el lector o el p\u00fablico, pero que no puede describirse.<br>Un espejo distorsionado inicia un viaje de uno mismo, afirma Paul Hance. En la tradici\u00f3n cham\u00e1nica de Mongolia, los espejos son un instrumento clave para mirar y construir una l\u00ednea entre el cuerpo y el alma. En Gab\u00f3n, en los rituales del Iboga, el espejo es tambi\u00e9n una herramienta para despertar a la persona a su conciencia.<br>Paul Hance entrelaz\u00f3 su amplia y continua exploraci\u00f3n sobre la manipulaci\u00f3n respetuosa y ceremonial de los materiales con los usos culturales del espejo como dispositivo para explorar el yo y la psique (del alma).<br>De hecho, la fabricaci\u00f3n de espejos puede leerse como una met\u00e1fora de la interconexi\u00f3n del propio viaje por la vida:<br>Producir vidrio soplado a boca es una investigaci\u00f3n de \u00f3xidos, oxido-reducciones, temperaturas y precisi\u00f3n infinita. En la estructura at\u00f3mica del vidrio, los \u00e1tomos est\u00e1n desorganizados y encuentran un nuevo orden durante la fase de transici\u00f3n del estado l\u00edquido al s\u00f3lido. Este caos permite cambiar la naturaleza del vidrio. Utilizando diferentes minerales, como el cobalto y el oro, el color aparece como una nueva propiedad, se convierte en un proceso alqu\u00edmico de transformaci\u00f3n.<br>Los espejos Rasa dialogan con los bancos dise\u00f1ados y fabricados por Brunhilde Bordeaux-Groult (FR) y Robert Elfgen (DE), que son esenciales para esta exposici\u00f3n, ya que invitan al espectador a ralentizarse y experimentar el &#8220;paso&#8221; del yo. Ya sea para comprender mejor, por miedo a lo desconocido o para suavizar el choque de lo nuevo. La imagen especular sirve para tranquilizar al yo, se compara la idea interior del yo con la forma exterior. As\u00ed, las obras de vidrio de la serie &#8220;Rasa&#8221; del artista Paul Hance presentes en la exposici\u00f3n nos acogen con cierta familiaridad. En sus obras, uno podr\u00eda pensar que est\u00e1 viendo vidrio transparente frente a fondos de distintos colores, pero Hance da al vidrio su coloraci\u00f3n mediante recetas transmitidas a lo largo de los siglos y la adici\u00f3n de otros materiales a la arena que se cuece. Por ejemplo, Hance produce la coloraci\u00f3n rosa que aparece en muchas de sus obras a\u00f1adiendo oro en polvo a los dem\u00e1s materiales utilizados en la producci\u00f3n de vidrio. Al calor de los hornos, las sustancias se combinan en funci\u00f3n de la proporci\u00f3n de mezcla y se transforman<br>en vidrio coloreado, tras el cual el artista monta l\u00e1minas de plata con ayuda de gelatina. Al igual que ocurre con el m\u00e9todo fotogr\u00e1fico de impresi\u00f3n con gelatina de plata, en el que las impresiones fotogr\u00e1ficas resultantes son siempre \u00fanicas, el vidrio soplado a mano, con sus diferentes colores e irregularidades, y el papel de plata, con imperfecciones deliberadamente no corregidas, tambi\u00e9n son siempre \u00fanicos. Del mismo modo que la luz, y por tanto la fotograf\u00eda, se inscribe en el material en las impresiones de plata gelatinosa, Hance&#8217; inscribe el momento cient\u00edficamente indescifrable en el que el vidrio se endurece sobre el papel de plata. Al mismo tiempo, Hance crea espejos que, a diferencia de una fotograf\u00eda, s\u00f3lo captan fugazmente una imagen del espectador y de su entorno. El espejo se utiliza como medio de percepci\u00f3n del yo exterior e interior en muchas culturas diferentes de todo el mundo. En el centro de la sala, un banco hecho por Elfgen a partir de un tronco de \u00e1rbol con un asiento tejido invita a los visitantes a sentarse y observar. Al igual que Hance, Elfgen se implica intensamente con el material utilizado y la artesan\u00eda asociada a \u00e9l. La obra de Elfgen tambi\u00e9n se caracteriza por un enfoque sensible de los materiales utilizados, distintos tipos de madera<br>madera, cobre, lat\u00f3n y vidrio, que el carpintero de formaci\u00f3n combina magistralmente con su formaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica. Al igual que el vidrio soplado a mano, la madera, con sus vetas, y los distintos metales, son piezas org\u00e1nicas \u00fanicas por oxidaci\u00f3n. En las<br>obras: un cuervo y b\u00fahos sin rostro, s\u00edmbolos de la noche y la muerte. Junto a ellos hay helechos, una forma de vida que forma parte de la naturaleza desde hace miles de a\u00f1os. Montado en un espejo est\u00e1 el apicultor, que entra en un intercambio con la naturaleza a trav\u00e9s de su conocimiento de ella y la utiliza en su beneficio. El material reflectante, el subconsciente de los b\u00fahos sin rostro y la conexi\u00f3n entre flora, fauna, materia, espacio y hombre tambi\u00e9n estimulan la reflexi\u00f3n del espectador y le devuelven a s\u00ed mismo y a su existencia en y como parte del mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12px; In parallel to this practice she layers and adds materials to create embroideries on different kinds of textiles. Her pictorial language oscillates between abstract and figurative qualities. Repeatedly, human outlines fizzle out into vegetal or crystalline structures. Often her works recall the concept of the \u201aAnima Mundi\u2018, a central idea to historical Romanticism\u2019s philosophy of nature. A crucial point of reference for her is the poet Novalis\u2018 notion that all living beings on earth sprung from the same source and together form a unified whole. She relates this figure of thought to the alchemistic teachings of transmutability, which are an equal focus of her studies. On a formal level in her work, Bordeaux-Groult negotiates between models of order on the one hand, and, on the other, the suggestion of fluid potentials which can perforate beyond seemingly fixed conditions. One group of reoccurring forms she employs are schematic \u2013 circles, octagons and shield-like forms, which historically emerged from the ambition to define totalities. The artist challenges these symbols of boundary-defined totality by invading them with her vegetal and crystalline drawings, the fluid and transgressive energy of which seems to strive beyond them. Some of these lively drawings almost seem to illustrate microbiological processes, some resemble lichen, a hybrid life form that consists of both algae and mushrooms and, due to its ability to survive in outer space, seems destined to cross even the boundaries between worlds.
