\u00abMOTHER-BURN\u00bb es el segundo v\u00eddeo de una trilog\u00eda de la pareja de artistas Asef<\/a>\u2011Burckhardt. Se rod\u00f3 in situ, en los restos quemados de un bosque de secuoyas del proyecto arquitect\u00f3nico ecol\u00f3gico vanguardista \u00abThe Sea Ranch\u00bb, en el norte de California. Bas\u00e1ndose en largos periodos de investigaci\u00f3n en ese lugar, Asef-Burckhardt presenta sus v\u00eddeos, dibujos, pinturas, performances, piezas sonoras, fotograf\u00edas y poemas creados in situ y en Berl\u00edn. Su proyecto, compuesto por obras multimedia, est\u00e1 en continua expansi\u00f3n y se muestra en diferentes escenarios en salas de exposici\u00f3n internacionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En el agudo contexto de la crisis medioambiental global, se plantean nuevas cuestiones antropol\u00f3gicas como \u00ab\u00bfQu\u00e9 debe conectar la arquitectura hoy en d\u00eda?\u00bb y \u00ab\u00bfQu\u00e9 debe lograr el amor hoy en d\u00eda?\u00bb, que se exploran art\u00edsticamente en estrecha relaci\u00f3n con la topograf\u00eda real de The Sea Ranch. Situado al norte de San Francisco, The Sea Ranch es una franja costera de aproximadamente 16 kil\u00f3metros con edificios residenciales agrupados e integrados en los escarpados acantilados del Pac\u00edfico. Los fuertes vientos salinos del mar, las rocas escarpadas de arena fina y los antiguos bosques de secuoyas caracterizan el paisaje de este lugar. El plan maestro de Sea Ranch fue desarrollado en la d\u00e9cada de 1960 por el arquitecto paisajista Lawrence Halprin para Oceanic Properties, una filial del grupo Dole\/Castle & Cooke, despu\u00e9s de que su vicepresidente, Al Boeke, descubriera y adquiriera el antiguo rancho y encargara el proyecto a Halprin junto con el equipo de arquitectos MLTW (Richard Whitaker, Donlyn Lyndon, Charles Moore y William Turnbull).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1960, Lawrence y Anna Halprin organizaron \u00abExperiments in Environment\u00bb (Experimentos en el medio ambiente), una serie de talleres interdisciplinarios celebrados en San Francisco, el condado de Marin y, en parte, en su caba\u00f1a de Sea Ranch, que reunieron a bailarines, arquitectos y dise\u00f1adores medioambientales para explorar la creatividad colectiva y la conciencia medioambiental, en lugar de centrarse \u00fanicamente en la comunidad local de Sea Ranch. Desde entonces, la finca ha seguido creciendo, pero su importancia internacional radica, en primer lugar, en su experimento pionero de integraci\u00f3n de la arquitectura y el paisaje y, en segundo lugar, en las intensas batallas legales y pol\u00edticas sobre el acceso p\u00fablico y la protecci\u00f3n del medio ambiente que contribuyeron a dar forma a la Ley de Conservaci\u00f3n de la Zona Costera de California de 1972 y al trabajo de la Comisi\u00f3n Costera de California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
